About the Event
This course is designed to introduce non-prescribing clinicians to medications commonly used to treat psychiatric conditions and empower clinicians to speak at a deeper level with their clients about medications. This course will delve into major classes of medications, emphasizing the most commonly prescribed psychotropic medications including indications, dosage ranges, and possible side effects. We will touch on the proposed actions, drug metabolism, and possible drug interactions for these medications.
Dr. Jennifer Schneider, PhD, PMHNP-BC, is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at the UNM Children’s Psychiatric Center and formerly worked for a residential treatment center for children and in an early intervention program. Dr. Schneider has taught psychiatric nursing and mental health counseling courses to graduate and undergraduate students
